Can’t stick to a diet? Neither can I.

Can’t stick to a diet? Neither can I. Feeling guilty, depressed and out of control? You shouldn’t. Not being able to stick to a diet is perfectly natural. Dieting is like trying to swim against the currant. Here is the good news; If you are not able to stick to a diet, you are a normal human being. Ok maybe you have developed over a certain period of time some bad habits that made you overweight but that doesn’t make you an unworthy person. It is actually quite the opposite. If you have been able to develop any kind of habit, good or bad, that produced a result then you have the capacity to develop more habits that can take you elsewhere.
Remember, habits are made of small gestures repeated over and over for a long period of time. Any habit good or bad you have now did not appear overnight. Although dieting may make you lose weight relatively fast, you are not adressing the real problem: Habits. If you have not created new ones, the old ones will return in force. The more you diet, the more you are pulling on the elastic that will enavitably break and bounce back in your face.
Work on developping new habits rather than going for a quick result. In the long run, you will benefit from this behaviour and it will stick with you for the rest of your life.
